Matty Lansdown Drum Remix

Matty Lansdown is the second student to work through the advanced drum course at DK Drums Academy. I worked ONE ON ONE with Matty for 2 months to create this mashup of Macklemore and Childish Gambino. We used protools to chop and edit the backing track then we worked mostly on chops and groove ideas to best compliment the track. It’s one thing to cover a drum track but it’s another to mix tracks up, choose sections to chop in, choose sections to groove in and blend it all together. Awesome work by Matty. Stoked to see the final product come up so well! I always talk about the importance of creating your OWN content to promote yourself as a drummer. Having a slick product to show potential clients/artists is very important and can definitely be the difference between getting the gig and not getting the gig. Once we put together this great piece together I then sent Matty to my team of Audio Engineers and Videographers who then created this amazing product. A team effort and a cracking result!
